Floods in Germany: current information on our delivery areas

The devastating floods in many parts of Germany, but also in neighboring European countries, make us look with concern at the regions affected. Our thoughts are with all the people who have lost loved ones and most of their belongings.

No items found.

In many places, the clean-up work is now beginning, and the extent of the destruction is becoming visible. Some places, especially in southwestern Germany, are still inaccessible or difficult to reach. Some stretches of highways also remain impassable. This is having an impact on the collection and delivery of shipments in the areas concerned.

Although our operations in southwest Germany have been spared the floods, there are still delays in some of our logistics processes. In addition, some of our employees are active in the volunteer fire department or in the THW (German Federal Agency for Technical Relief) and are helping with the clean-up work.

Nevertheless, we are working tirelessly to provide services to all areas that can still be reached by truck. To that end, we ask for your assistance as follows:

  • If possible, before placing your shipping or pickup orders, clarify whether your customers/suppliers in the affected regions can accept shipments or bring them in for shipment.
  • Inform your recipients that transit time delays may occur due to infrastructural obstacles.
  • Take into account that the inaccessibility of the recipient may be accompanied by subsequent goods returns and that it may not be possible to carry out individual collections in a timely manner.

The following overview lists the postal code areas in Germany that are currently most affected.

We thank you for your understanding and assistance. For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely,

Your Team at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Germany
